A little about my dream

My name is Ashley, my husband Travis and I have been married for a little over a year, and we have been together almost 9 years. We have 3 beautiful children. Angelz is almost 13 going on 30, Maddi is 4, and Abel is 3. They are our whole world. My husband is a Nurse and I am Certified Surgical Tech, now turned Business Owner. I had to stop scrubbing back in 2017 due to some vision issues I was having. I knew when I could no longer see to cut suture that something was really wrong. This was something that I tried to hide from everyone, because to me it was super embarrassing. I went to the doctor several times and I was misdiagnosed for 3 1/2 years. This is because the onset was so slow, but come January of this year, I was doing good to just drive without seeing double. Come to find out it is a late onset affect of brain trauma that I had when was an infant. I was referred in January to Dean McGee Eye Center to see a Nuero/Ophthalmologist. I have had two eye surgeries this year to help combat my strabismus, and I now have prescription glasses with prism…and I can see!!!!! God is so good, and it’s definitely a blessing. My surgeon told me in the beginning that he wasn’t sure if I would ever be able to scrub again, which was one of the hardest things to take in. I am now cleared to scrub…. that is how amazing this Surgeon is! This will be a long road of recovery, and my Surgeon said I will have a long term relationship with them. So, this is how I choose to start my business, a little bit spur of the moment, like really….I was driving to Oklahoma City to my 8 week check-up appointment. It just hit me, this is the time, go for it. Now, I do have to say part of me kept telling myself…no, there is no way I can pull this off, not now. Another part of me said if you never try you will never know what you are fully capable of, I have an amazing support system at home. I also want our little ones to see what they can accomplish if they set their minds to something. I had recently been making centerpieces for our house, out of Antique Mason Jars that used to be my grandma’s. I had been told by a few people I should start selling these. So, I started searching on Google, yes I said it…Google. Lol. I took a Business class last year, and received my Associates Degree in Business and Industry Management, which truly has helped in this process. I registered the business and all of the other things necessary. I still have so much to learn, sooo much….but I know I can do it. Recently our kids were hurt at the daycare that they were attending, and there is a large investigation going on right now, which is another driving factor behind why I choose to do this so fast. I want to be able to be their for our little ones when they need us, I want to have that capability. We can never get these little moments with them back. I also have a vision for our future. It includes donating part of our proceeds to help victims of child abuse here in Bartlesville, I also have a dream of opening a non profit in the future to help those in need here in town, and not have income requirements to participate. I am someone who always sees the end first, and pieces together the middle. I have faith in my plan for our family and my Business and I am so happy to have your support. Thank you to my tribe! I am so excited that for you to see what the future holds for our family and Business!!!
